I walked through the main part of town, then turned down an alley and headed towards the sea. Stepping onto the sand the beauty and stillness of the late afternoon hit me. The shoreline was scattered with children. The washed up ships and dinghies were
their playground and they never seemed to run out of things to keep themselves occupied. It was clear they felt as if this beach was their own private world. Camera in their face was welcome and they all yelled ‘photo photo!’ So happy to share their faces, their lives with a stranger. It’s hard to describe the sense of peace I felt that afternoon. Watching them play hearing the constant laugher ring out against the gently crashing waves.
It was good to be back to this place which has always felt like home.
